Evangelism Resources

John and Robin have developed resources for Evangelism and witnessing for the ELCA (Evangelical Lutheran Church in America). A 24-page booklet entitled Sharing Faith in a New Century: Inspiration for Witnessing was released January 2004. The booklet is designed to provide tools for congregations to introduce and implement the Evangelism Strategy adopted by the ELCA at its church-wide assembly in August, 2003.

The booklet contains a summary of the Strategy, Bible studies, bulletin inserts, ideas for Epiphany and Lent, and a user guide for the companion inspirational video (which John developed) entitled Shining Witnesses.

The booklet and the video can be found on the ELCA Evangelizing Church website .

Daily Discipleship

John and Robin have written an online lectionary Bible study entitled Daily Discipleship . This resource is designed for small groups of two - seven people, or for an adult Sunday school class to explore each Sunday’s gospel lesson. A brief overview of the Scriptures, interspersed with discussion questions, is followed with a reflection on the Word for everyday life.

Each session is free and available to be downloaded and copied for participants.

Mission Book

John and Robin have also co-authored the book Our Mission: Discovering God's Call to Us. The book is a resource for congregational leaders to assist in discovering and defining their congregation's mission and vision. This book assists congregations in writing a mission statement, establishing goals, and creating action plans to carry out those goals.

Ordering information and excerpts (including reproducible tools that can be downloaded and customized) can be found at Augsburg Fortress.

The book is a part of the Congregational Leadership Series of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America and Augsburg Fortress Publishers.
